The upcoming High Point Furniture Market is expected to draw thousands of visitors from different parts of the countries and the National Home Furnishing Association will be taking the opportunity to educate attendees of the event on industry related topics.
The association announced its plan to hold 24 educational seminars recently. These seminars will target people in the industry looking to improve their business practices for better chance at success.
The seminars will be held at the Retailer Resource Center from April 7 to 10. The RRC is usually home to exhibitors specializing in areas like advertising, financing, software, training, store design, and others.
Attendees who will take advantage of these free seminars will also be treated to free food, beverages, and access to the World Wide Web. These will be provided by CyberCafe and Sports Pub.
One of the free seminars will be hosted by Philip Gutsell of GutSELL & Associates. The said seminar will be titled Growing Your Business When Facing Challenging Conditions. Gutsell will be talking about seven strategic steps to help even small players in the industry achieve success.
According to the organizers of the said seminar, Gutsell will be naming some of their clients which have been successful in their field after observing these seven steps. The introduction of these clients will be beneficial to attendees in the sense that they will have a concrete example of how these steps will be able to help them. Gutsell will take the stage on Monday, April 7 from 8:30 to 9:30 in the morning.
Martin Roberts from GRID2 will then take the floor from ten to eleven oclock on the same day. Roberts will be tackling the twelve steps which retailers can put into action to cope with the declining sales brought about by the slump in the economy.
After that, John McCloskey of Profitability Consulting Group will be talking about the importance of moving goods on a budget. The said seminar will be tackling the impact of cheap imports on the furniture market in the country.
These are just some of the seminars which are geared towards educating industry players. This includes manufacturers and retailers of furniture pieces and fixtures such as ceiling lights.
